I was born in the south of Italy and lived in Dublin and Singapore
before moving back to Italy, where I now work remotely as an
Engineering Manager at MongoDB.
I pursued an academic career in
computer science engineering, then worked as a software
engineer and tech lead for some of the biggest names in tech,
including Amazon, Google and Meta.
I have a
passion for music - I studied piano and was an electronic music
composer for a few years.
I lead a team of 8 engineers building the infrastructure-as-code experience for MongoDB Atlas, starting with the Atlas Terraform provider. We built an engine that auto-generates Terraform resources from the Atlas API spec, cutting the time from a new API capability to Terraform support from weeks to days.
Developed and maintained the quick commerce experience for foodpanda customers, based in Singapore.
I was a tech lead in Business Integrity, leading a team of 10 engineers and a cross-functional group of 20+. We built tools that help businesses protect their intellectual property and fight the sale and promotion of counterfeit products, which harms brands, honest sellers and consumers alike.
I worked in Trust & Safety, building tools and automation that stop abuse and fraudulent accounts from harming our users and Google itself. I led a project that enabled reviewers to act on clustered accounts identified via machine learning.
I was part of the AWS CloudWatch API team, responsible for the entire software life-cycle, from requirements to deployment and maintenance. CloudWatch lets customers publish metrics about their services and access metrics from other AWS services; our APIs handled ~70 million calls per minute in the largest region.
Worked on internal trading and management tools used by private bankers of Mediolanum s.p.a. with their customers. I mainly used java-oriented oracle technologies for the back-end and Javascript for the front-end
Worked on internal software used by bank employees to manage customer guarantees and mortages. Java-technologies mostly used for the front-end facing architecture. The back-end was still written in Cobol (did not even know how that horrible thing worked 😊)
My very first experience in a company. Everything started from the university: I was hired by this small company for a research project: building a software that was able to interpret human emotions by means of machine vision techniques. The project consisted of creating a model that was mapping input data from various sensors to the six universal human emotions: happiness, surprise, anger, sadness, fear, disgust. I worked on various aspects of this project, from defining the model (based on the current state of the art) to working on image processing algorithms related to face recognition.
